Wagner Xavier de Camargo
Wagner is an anthropologist dedicated to studying dissident expressions of gender and sexuality in football and sports. He is currently a professor at the State University of Campinas, at the Faculty of Education. Completed two post-doctoral internships in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of São Carlos, respectively with FAPESP funding (2013-2016) and CAPES funding (2016-2019). In terms of academic training, he has a PhD in Human Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, 2008-2012), a Master's degree in Physical Education (Unicamp, 1997-1999), a Bachelor's degree in Sociology (Unicamp, 1996) and a Degree in Anthropology ( Unicamp, 1995).
Furthermore, he is an effective member of the Brazilian Anthropology Association (ABA), a founding member of the Brazil-Germany Network for the Internationalization of Higher Education (REBRAINT), a researcher-collaborator of the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst/DAAD). She is part of the research team at the Laboratory for the Study of Playful Practices and Sociability (LELuS) and, at INCT, coordinates the thematic line "Women's, indigenous, LGBTQIA+ and Paralympic football".
